Dear watchfriends,
it is really nice to see with how much passion you discuss this movement. I think exactly this is why we all love watches so much right ?
For me it is hard to read everything, I work with translator. But I would like to tell you some things about the mechanism...
Durowe was a big supplier for rough movements at this time, and DUROW produced also the mechanism for LACO at this time...

At the time 1944 Germany was already on the ground,
completely destroyed. At this time the german companies used what they could find to produce the movements.
Inside the boxes we found the signatures and handwritten date of checking and testing.
I was not there at this time ( I am lucky ) but it makes no sense to save empty boxes. The movements were produced around this time and the signature is made 3 monthes before bombing. But if we check pictures and compare the movements then we can find for sure a lot of differences.
523 and 526 was the same base movement and the parts could be changed ( one is center second another is small second at 6 ). The people in the factory at this time took the parts and assembled what they had. It was everywhere like that in germany. Means we will find 523 with hole for center second and 526 signed plates with small second.
But exactly this makes this movements interesting !!!
I checked the stock with my Friend Benno Richter ( Author of the History of Breitling ) and also he said this movements are out of this time.
There are also old original dials and parts of the BIG B-Uhr mechanism ( unfortunately no complete movements ). The B-Uhr parts and the U-Boat ( Navy ) parts are for sure out of the wartime.
But there is for sure no reason to fight about the movements … Peole who think they are fake should not buy... and people who like it can at least thing about it...
I will talk to LACO again and maybe if the watchfriends are interested we can make something with them directly …
One is clear i think … to make a FAKE movement with 18.000 vibration and only 10.5" and then without LACO signature would be really stupid
)))) No I do not make a LACO engraving ( would be easy ) I think the movements should be original as they were found.
Thanks for reading …
